Life is good, doncha think?

Now Waddy’s done about 4 posts over the summer so I feel I should contribute in some way…well what have I been up to? Going to gatherings and socials, getting AS results, getting prepared for Reading!

So Reading is in a few days – I managed to pull my shit together and buy a tent and save up enough money to spend, and the ticket came the other day – and everybody is pretty fucking excited, whether it’s for Rage, or just general ‘omgI’mgonnaspendalongweekendwithmyfriendsgettingdrunkandseeafewbands’ excitement. The lineup is pretty up-to-date now I assume, and they’ve added some cool stuff. Though they took White Denim off the Festival Republic stage which is pretty shit. Other than that we have Rage, QOTSA, Biffy Clyro, Serj Tankian, Dizzee Rascal, Bloc Party, Tenacious D, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Be Your Own PET, Pete and the Pirates, Justice, Foals, Seasick Steve, Mystery Jets, Santogold, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Cribs, Bright Eyes, The Music, Lightspeed Champion, Cajun Dance Party, Yeasayer, Flogging Molly, Fucked Up, Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, Chromeo, Lethal Bizzle, Holy Fuck, The Death Set, Late of the Pier, Wiley, Friendly Fires, XX Teens, Jeremy Warmsley, So So Modern, Youthmovies, Michael McIntyre, and Phill Jupitus (improvised stand-up)! So pretty damn good, oui?

Oh and they’re showing IRON MAN in the cinema (Dance Tent) on Saturday night at 00:25, so be there or very much be square, sucka! Oh and there are small gigs at the Rivermead Leisure Centre apparently including Pendulum, Holy Fuck, These New Puritans, Fucked Up and Johnny Foreigner. Not bad, but I’ll probably be too occupied to care :D

So yeah, I was away for around 2 weeks in Pembrokeshire. Whilst I was there, I read The Beach by Alex Garland (much better than the film), played some epic games of Monopoly, made my own pottery, went to a lot of towns and beaches, and watched The Dark Knight, 30 Days of Night, Hellboy and Wall-E, which are all awesome films. Talking of films, I’ve also been watching Knocked Up, and found some amazing deleted scenes. The ones with Dr Kumi in particular cracked me up, such as in this one (I couldn’t find the full version) of him talking to Alison (Katherine Heigl) and Ben (Seth Rogen) – watch their faces, they can’t keep them straight:

And this outtake, again from Knocked Up, with Jonah (Jonah Hill):

But yeah other than that, the song from the Watchmen trailer is pretty awesome, and I didn’t realise it was an alternative take on the Smashing Pumpkins track ‘The End is the Beginning is the End’. It’s particularly epic:
